VFX Helsinki was founded in 2023 with a mission to offer photorealistic visual effects for Nordic and international storytellers in advertising, feature and episodic mediums. Our core team stems from the VFX department of Post Control Helsinki, Finland’s premier full-service, privately owned post-production studio.
We level up shots and craft realistic CG to help tell entertaining stories. Our love for high concepts, solving problems and good laughs mixes battle tested (and AI accelerated) VFX solutions and hard work in equal measure. We are Worldbuilders who respect the Builders and the one World we have.

Tomi Nieminen
VFX PRODUCER, PARTNER
Tomi is one of the founders and a partner at VFX Helsinki. He has over two decades of VFX and DI Producer experience in Finland, Germany and London. His notable international titles include VFX Producing Passengers (MPC) and sequences for Alien: Covenant (MPC), Cloud Atlas (Trixter) and DI Producing Paddington 2 (Technicolor). “The bigger, the better” is not always necessary, but with his experience Tomi is not shy to steer any size projects through thick and thin.

Viivi Veivo
VFX COORDINATOR
Viivi is our central production coordinator with 10+ years of experience combining both production and post-production roles in short and long form projects. She has managed multiple projects including complex editorial, VFX and mastering workflows. In-depth Resolve experience allows her to engage and troubleshoot on a very practical level. Viivi’s recent projects include There is Something in the Barn and Ett Sista Race.

Tuomo Hintikka
VFX SUPERVISOR
Tuomo is one of Finland’s longest serving and highly sought after Visual Effects Supervisor. He loves supervising on-set and has led teams both as an in-house and production side VFX Supervisor. Tuomo started his career as an Editor and evolved into a Flame Artist working in advertising in Finland, Norway and Bangkok. Tuomo’s unique background and experience enable him to work closely with other HODs through all the stages of the filmmaking process.

Matti Kaihola
CTO, PARTNER
Matti is one of the founders and a partner at VFX Helsinki. He has a 20-year track record of creating and enabling CG solutions for complex photorealistic projects. He is a passionate artist-architect developing workflows and pipeline technologies fundamental to our success. Besides technology and hardcore CG, Matti is also passionate about team well-being and how quality and efficiency can be promoted with good intentions backed by rigorous processes.

Lasse Kilpiä
VFX SUPERVISOR, PARTNER
Lasse is one of the founders and a partner at VFX Helsinki. His career as a Visual Effects Supervisor spans over two decades. Rare among VFX Supervisors, Lasse has kept his artist passion and creates CG also hands-on. Drawing from his extensive experience across a wide variety of short and long form projects, he loves to explore solutions to visual challenges be it in 2D or 3D/CG.

Saku Partamies
VFX SUPERVISOR, PARTNER
Saku is one of the founders and a partner at VFX Helsinki. He started his CG Artist career in early 2000. After working for the design industry in the Netherlands, he anchored at Mackevision’s CG animation team in Shanghai and later joined Pixomondo. Working as a Division VFX Supervisor on Hugo, Star Trek Into Darkness, Snow White and the Huntsman and Game of Thrones among others.
